Owner and Director of Fabrik, Sarah Hardie, recently made the big decision to move her family to the South Coast. Life on the Northern Beaches of Sydney was getting a little too hectic and as a working mum she wanted to simplify as much as she could. “My husband Ben travels for half of the year with work and things have been so busy for us over the past eighteen months. I was really craving a simpler routine for the whole family and while we love the northern beaches, we agreed it was time to make a change.”
Returning to the suburb she spent holidays in as a child, Sarah is looking forward to renovating the little cottage they now call home. “Let’s just say it’s in need of some serious TLC but we’re up for the challenge,” she says. They’ve gained a decent sized garden so a veggie patch is in the works and her two eldest children, Jemima and Jonas, are flourishing at the local Montessori school. But there’s some things that will take a bit of getting used to, like the fact that Sarah’s favourite coffee shop is closed on Sundays.
So how will this move affect Fabrik? Basically, Sarah has carved out more time to design which means a slightly bigger women’s collection and the addition of clothes for boys. She’s also adding lifestyle products to the store.
When it comes to logistics, Sarah has opted to use a third party company to take care of all the shipping. Basically, any order placed before 2pm will ship the same day.
